Health Careers in the Bush Resources
Health Careers in the Bush (HCB) has developed a number of informative resources to support rural school students, their families, teachers and communities.
1. HEALTH CAREERS IN THE BUSH - BASIC RESOURCE KIT
- 4 x "Your Guide to a Career in Health" booklet

- 20 x Pens printed with the HCB logo and website
2. HEALTH CAREERS IN THE BUSH - VIDEO PACK
There are three videos currently available:
- 1 x Health Careers in the Bush Video: profiles a paramedic, nurse, doctor, physiotherapist and a radiographer in a small regional hospital.
- 1 x Health Careers in the Bush for Torres Strait Islander Students: produced in the Torres Strait for Torres Strait Islander students, this video introduces a few of the local Indigenous health professionals working on Thursday Island and provides students with an insight into their story.
- 1 x Health Careers in the Bush for Aboriginal Students: profiling an Aboriginal doctor, dentist and psychology student, this video introduces just a few of the health careers available and the support available for Aboriginal students wishing to pursue such a career pathway.

3. INFORMATION BOOKLET - 'Your Guide to a Health Career'
This one-stop-shop booklet succinctly provides a variety of information including: a list of all Queensland courses in health; profiles on over 25 professions; indigenous student information; scholarship information; and details of other relevant publications. It is produced as an A4 spiral bound booklet.
Parts of the booklet are downloadable throughout this website.
5. HEALTH CAREERS IN THE BUSH CD Rom
The CD Rom provides an interactive interface for students, parents and teachers to discover information on the array of health professions available in Queensland and where to access more information on health careers and scholarships. The CD is also useful for those wanting to promote HCB activities and resources in their rural community.
